Some Troubleshooting Tips
If you don't hear any sound
On an iPhone first make sure the ringer control is not set to silent mode. The ringer control switch (just above the volume control on the left side of the iPhone) should be in the up position. You should not see an orange dot on the switch.
On an iPod touch remember that you can only listen through attached earbuds/headphones (since it has no speaker).
On both devices make sure that "Sound Effects" is not "Off." Start the Settings program, select "General" and then "Sound Effects" and make sure that it is set to "Headphones" or "Both" (or "Speaker" on an iPhone).
Also, make sure that the "master" volume is not too low. A slider that controls the "master" volume is found in the Music program.
Finally, check to make sure your "Volume Limit" isn't set too low. Find this in the Settings program under "Music" then "Volume Limit."
If Cowbell Plus is playing somewhat erratically
Sometimes restarting Cowbell Plus or power cycling the iPhone (or iPod touch) can help reduce irregular playback. You should also check the left-/right-hand selector at the bottom of the Selection Screen to make sure it is set correctly. Note that this setting even matters for "bidirectional" instruments, like the Tambourine, that make sound in both shake directions. To reach the Selection Screen, press the "Info" button in the bottom right of the Main Screen (the screen that appears when you start up Cowbell Plus).
