AlphaTrack and MAGIX Samplitude/Sequoia 10.1

The AlphaTrack, from Frontier Design Group, has been designed from scratch to make the job of recording and editing audio a more efficient and enjoyable process. Those used to working with only a mouse and keypad may find large hardware controllers too daunting to use, or too expensive to purchase. The AlphaTrack defies both those descriptions. Installation and operation of AlphaTrack with Samplitude or Sequoia is simple. And AlphaTrack packs a lot of power into a package that will not drain you bank account.

Magix now includes native mode support for AlphaTrack through a special control surface file that is pre-installed with the Samplitude and Sequoia applications. Install the basic AlphaTrack driver on your Windows machine. Then launch Samplitude and enable AlphaTrack as a MIDI device in Samplitude MIDI Options panel, and then add it to the Hardware Controllers panel. That’s it! You’re ready to begin mixing and editing in a new, and refreshing way. Use familiar tactile controls with quick access to Aux, EQ, and Plug-in settings. Write automation with a high resolution fader. And navigate your project with the touch of a finger. Be creative again. Magix has even added a new “Active Control” feature that lets you click on almost any onscreen parameter knob and control it instantly with AlphaTrack’s fader!

Samplitude Setup

The Frontier Design Group website includes two PDF documents specifically for Samplitude users. The first, Samplitude 10.1 Guide, contains detailed instructions for configuring the AlphaTrack for use with Samplitude. Information on how to use some of AlphaTracks’ less-obvious features, as well as a reference chart listing the default controls.

The second file, Samplitude10 Layout, is a single page picture of the AlphaTrack with overlaid text summarizing the Samplitude feature set. It may be helpful to print this file and have it handy as a quick reference guide.

We encourage visitors to our user forums to post their comments and questions. Other users often have useful ideas and experiences to share, and we monitor the posts to provide additional input.
