Running Mac OS 10.6.7 Snow Leopard. Have side-by side installations of Cubase 5 & 6. Tranzport has worked in Cubase 5 for years, and still works.
I have installed the Cubase native Tranzport plugin into the Cubase 6 program, however Tranzport does not show up in the 'Devices' menu in Cubase 6 as it does in Cubase 5. No binding problems. Any ideas?

Display Problem

Hi all,

I just bought the last new Tranzport in Holland (I think), and now it seems broken!

I got it a bit working under Cubase 6 in Win7-64, meaning all controls functioned but I didn't get correct feedback updates in the display. That was when used as a Mackie Control.

Since that setup crippled my other remote controller (Tascam DM3200), I then set the Tranzport to Native mode. Now it functions nicely together with the Tascam, but the display only shows a line of black boxes in the top line. Can't even get the battery check to work, also with the remote not linked.

I tried starting up again by removing the batteries, but to no avail. Is there another kind of reset possible, or should I return it already? Thanks for any suggestions.

Ableton Scene Names

Hello all,

Just got a Tranzport and I am *loving* it with Ableton 8.2.2!

Only issue is, when I scroll over to the Master track, it never displays the name of scene that I have given, it always displays Scene XX, where XX is the number of the scene.

According to the Tranzport documentation, I should be seeing the scene name I gave it, the track I am looking at displays fine.

Any insight?

help with Cubase 4.5 and Tranzport on Win7 64

Hi,

After too long in storage I'm setting up my old recording setup. I've installed Cubase 4.5 (the 32 bit version) on to Windows 7 64bit (I was told Cubase 4.5 64bit was not very stable)

I've just done a fresh install of the tranzport drive 1.5.

the tranzport is working fine, binds and and batter checks ok, display is working. when I do the test (shift+stop+batt) I get a message about radio chip serial is OK, and then some garbage text on the screen and pressing buttons on the tranzport causes asterisks to appear on screen - is that supposed to happen?

When I go into cubase the tranzport just wont work - the screen is blank and if I press buttons it fires off my midi instruments.

on the midi port setup page the tranzport appears next to Windows MIDI In, but the port only shows as active if I click the "in all Inputs' checkbox, otherwise Tranzport IN and OUT show as 'inactive'.

also, should I run the tranzport driver in Native or Mackie Control mode?

Can anyone suggest what may be wrong here? and suggest a fix?

It's been so long since I used the tranzport I really can remember how I used it, but I can't find anything in the manual that I haven't done.

any help appreciated.

Trouble with Tranzport in Logic 8

Hi, I think I may have changed a setting somewhere but I can't figure out where. Here's my problem:

* Tranzport was working fine. Pressing the stop button would stop the recording, and then pressing it again would rewind to the beginning. Also undo button was working fine, would undo the last recording, only.

* Something happened, I may have hit a combination of buttons at one point, by mistake. It seems like that was when it started. Now: Pressing stop button stops, and automatically rewinds to the beginning of the project. Undo button undos the last two recordings, instead of just the last one.

* Shift + Stop now stops the recording or playback without automatically rewinding. Still can't figure out why undo is still undoing two levels instead of one. Shift + undo didn't give any result.

I think there was a point where I hit a couple buttons at once. Is this a setting that I can fix?

I've tried uninstalling, then reinstalling the drivers, the latest version from the frontierdesign website, but it didn't solve the problem. I've also tried Rebuilding defaults in Logic > Preferences > Control Surfaces. I'm on Logic 8.0.2 on Mac OSX 10.4.11. Everything else works fine and the controller's stop and undo buttons used to work correctly.

Thanks for any help...

tranzport stopped working after cubase upgrade

Hi,

I understand the unit has been discontinued (why? it's great) but hoping you will help me anyway.

Have been using my approx. 4 yr old unit in Cubase 4 on a Vista 32 bit machine sucessfully for several years, although recently the shift/set locator feature stopped working.

i recently upgraded to Cubase 6, and installed latest driver (1.5) and clicked cubase plugin as well.

Device shows up in taskbar (set to native) and is selectable under device setup in cubase. I added it and have the midi in and out set to "tranzport"

Doesn't work. transmitter will blink for about ten seconds if you hit the button, tranzport unit itself will light up if you hit a key but other than battery, nothing else functions.

Still have C4 installed and now it won't work there either.

I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling, but not sure i've done that correctly.

also, unit itself says ver 1.0 on display, not sure if that's now supposed to reflect the 1.5 i installed.

Any and all help appreciated. i love this unit and can't live without it!

thanks.
