TranzPort and Ardour 2.0

Ardour

LINUX-based applications are rapidly growing in number, functionality, and popularity. None demonstrate this better than Ardour 2.0 Digital Audio Workstation. Ardour’s award-winning design has taken another giant step into the audio recording arena. The release of version 2.0 brings a wealth of new features including full support for our TranzPort wireless DAW controller.

Simply connect TranzPort’s USB interface to an active USB port, launch Ardour 2.0 and select ‘TranzPort’ from the Options > Control Surfaces menu. That’s it, you’re ready to go! No other programming needed.

The TranzPort remote controller provides standard transport and channel functions, marker navigation, and zoom controls. Move through your project timeline in Shuttle or Scrub modes. Remotely arm tracks for recording, adjust level and pan settings, or undo a bad take without leaving the vocal booth.

The Frontier Design Group website includes two PDF documents created specifically for Ardour 2.0 users.

The first is Ardour 2.0 and TranzPort. This document contains detailed instructions for configuring and using TranzPort with Ardour, information about how to use some of TranzPort’s advanced features, and a reference chart listing the default controls for Ardour.

The second file, Ardour 2.0 Layout, is a single page picture of the TranzPort controller with overlaid text summarizing the Ardour feature set. It may be helpful to print this file and have it handy as a quick reference guide.
